WORKSHOPS AT THE MUSEUM OF CERAMICS

Painting classes are held every Wednesday, 10:00 am - 12:00 pm.

  • Students may paint in any medium and can participate in the weekly prompt decided by the inscuctor, Sheri Liebschner, or paint whatever they like with Sheri’s guidance

  • Please bring your own paints if possible

  • There is a $15 recommended donation per session.

Ceramic Staining Class (currently full) will be held Tuesday, October 15, 6:00 - 8:00 pm (door open until 9:00 pm)

  • Classes are $25.00 per attendee, with a 5 attendee minimum

  • Each class can accomodate up to 20 painters. (When scheduling, please let us know how many of each piece each painter would like to paint)

  • Instructor Carol Warneke will guide the class in using Fashenhues translucent stains to paint pre-made pottery pieces

  • All supplies will be provided

Ceramic Throwing Workshop (currently full) will begin September 26, 6:00 - 8:00 pm

  • (this class is currently full, please call to be placed on the waiting list for the next available class in Spring)

  • Learn to throw clay on an electric wheel with instructor Lisa Zimmerman.

  • There are 5 classes in this series, each on a Thursday from 6:00 - 8:00 pm.

  • Tuition is $100

  • Tuition is $100

Ceramic Mosaic Bird Houses

This class is offered several times a year. No class is currently scheduled.
Judy Fannin and Cindy Hoffrichter lead the students in creating a mosaic of ceramic shards on a decorative birdhouse. All supplies, including the house, tools, paints, and ceramics shards are supplied. Students are encouraged to bring sentimental pieces to add to their design… perhaps Grandma’s cracked dinner plate that you just can’t throw away? The fee is $35.

The Inspiration Series

This series is presented by Museum Director, Susan Weaver, and artist, Sheri Liebschner. Susan will discuss a notable ceramic or local artist and show examples of the artist’s work. Sheri will then lead the participants in an art project inspired by the designs.

Ceramic designer and watercolorist, Arthur Mountford, will be the next featured artist. Check back here for details.

Pre-Made Pottery Painting

Use paints and stains to decorate and bring to life a variety of pre-made pottery pieces. Great for those who want to add their personal touch to more elaborate pottery pieces.

Fee is $25 per attendee, with a 5 attendee minimum. Supplies provided.
